Description

I had to make this. I just had to.
Inspired by one of the dumbest books I've ever read. It's called Beyond the Laughter...: A Daughter's Story of Curly's Post Three Stooges Years, it's almost pure fiction, it's hilariously terrible, and sadly...some people believe it's true. It claims that Curly:
- Wrote the godfather and knew Mario Puzo.
- Knew former President Hoover and the two of them planned the JFK assassination.
- Was Catholic-Italian (in reality he was Jewish-Lithuanian)
- Had several sisters (He had no sisters, only 4 brothers - Jack, Irving, Moe, and Shemp - despite his mother's wishes for daughters)
- Wasn't a member of the Horwitz family. Gee, then why is his gravestone placed right with them?
- Was involved in the Mob. What the hell? Curly was a shy, introverted, and soft-spoken person off-camera, I can't imagine him being a Mafia member.
- Billed himself as Larry Fine - Records show he only billed himself as either 'Jerry' or 'Curly' Howard. Larry Fine is the only one who ever billed himself as Larry Fine.
- Real name was Glissen. It was actually Jerome Lester, AKA 'Jerry' or 'Babe'
- Lived in the deep South - instead of NYC like is recorded previously..
- Died in 1975 of cancer. In fact, he died in 1952, due to the numerous complications of his stroke way back in 1946.
- Most sickeningly, he's depicted as a wife beater. No joke. I knew he had trouble with his third wife Marion, but he never laid a hand on her in anger. In fact, I have a suspicion she was far more abusive... Paul Howard (Moe's son) recalls an incident where Marion beat the living daylights out of Moe's wife Helen. Ouch.
- Plus, in the years the author claimed Curly was out and about, sowing wild oats, running from the mob and such...he was, in reality, paralyzed on his entire right side, again, due to his stroke.
- While this doesn't relate to Curly, the author mentioned in the book that she met Walt Disney in 1968, when she was working as an underage stripper in a nightclub. Funny, I was under the impression old Walt passed on in 1966...

The pic used for this stamp was screencapped from this video [link] , after the girls sing "Curly's a dope!"
